Erste Ausgabe. Nissen 4408. vgl. Graesse VII, 450 (Neue Ausgabe). Mit gestochenem Titelblatt und 40 handkolorierten Kupfertafeln. Einband beschabt, etwas bestoßen und an den Kapitalen mit schmalen Randfehlstellen im Lederbezug. Fliegendes Blatt und Nachsatz mit Besitzvermerk von alter Hand in Tinte. Seiten stellenweise leicht stockfleckig, einige Seiten und Tafeln mit sehr blassem Wasserrand (zwar zum Teil mit Bildberührung, diese jedoch kaum sichtbar und ohne Einschränkung der Bildqualität). Tafel 33 etwas knapp, aber ohne Bildberührung beschnitten, Seite 221/222 mit kleinerem Randeinriss (ca. 2,5 cm, ohne Textberührung). Einige Tafeln mit Farbdurchschlag. Gutes bis sehr gutes Exemplar mit Kupferstichen in kräftigen Abdrucken und schöner Handkoloration.
Half leather binding of the time with five raised bands and red edges all around. First edition. Nissen 4408; cf. Graesse VII, 450 (new edition). With an engraved title page and 40 hand-coloured copper engravings. Binding rubbed, a bit bumped, with small edge losses to the leather at head and tail of spine. Front flyleaf and rear endpaper with ownership entries in ink from an earlier hand. Occasional light foxing throughout, some pages and plates with faint waterstaining (partially touching the image areas, but scarcely visible and not affecting image quality). Plate 33 trimmed a little narrowly but without loss of image. Page 221/222 with a short marginal tear (approx. 2.5 cm, not touching the text). Some plates with minor colour show-through. Overall near fine copy, with strong impressions and vibrant hand colouring of the engravings.
