Erste Ausgabe. Englischsprachige Ausgabe. Mit einem Frontispiz in Farbe und 78 Tafeln, diese überwiegend in Schwarz-Weiß bedruckt und zum Teil mit montierten Farbabbildungen. Unbeschnittenes Exemplar. Einband minimal berieben, blass fleckig und leicht bestoßen. Schnitt gebräunt. Im vorderen Innengelenk etwas gelockert, eine Lage mittig minimal gelockert. Vorsätze und Seidenhemdchen teilweise etwas stockfleckig. Gutes bis sehr gutes Exemplar.
Original cloth binding with floral gilt-stamped decoration. First edition. English-language edition. With a color frontispiece and 78 plates, mostly printed in black and white and partly with mounted color illustrations. Untrimmed copy. Binding minimally rubbed, faintly foxed and slightly bumped. Edges darkened. Front inner hinge somewhat loosened; one gathering slightly loosened at the center. Endpapers and tissue guards partly somewhat foxed. Overall near fine copy.
