Einbände berieben, etwas bestoßen und am Rücken gedunkelt. Karten stockfleckig, eine Karte mit leichten Randläsuren (ohne Bildberührung). Seiten minimal gebräunt und stellenweise leicht stockfleckig. Gutes Exemplar.
Blue hardcover bindings of the time with elaborate blind- and gilt-stamping and all edges gilt. Second edition. English-language edition. With 2 folding maps, one of them coloured, and numerous woodcut illustrations in the text. The bindings were made by Leighton Son & Hodge in London. Boards rubbed, somewhat bumped, and the spines darkened. Maps foxed, one map with slight marginal tears (not affecting the image). Pages faintly darkened and in places lightly foxed. A good copy.
