Erste Ausgabe. Komplett mit 238 farbigen lithografierten Tafeln (180 Vogel- und 58 Eiertafeln). Im 3. Band ist der aufgeführte „Alpine Serin Finch“ nicht vorhanden. Im 4. Band sind die gelisteten „Pallas’ Pratincole“, „Asiatic Plover“, „Red-breasted Dotterel“, „Charadrius Longipes“ und „Least European Sparrow Owl“ nicht vorhanden, dafür sind vom „Levant Sparrow-Hawk“ 2 Tafeln (Adulte und Young Male and Female) vorhanden sowie der nicht gelistete „Strix-Pusilla“ (Identsch mit dem Exemplar der Smithsonian Library). Band 4 mit dem oft fehlenden Vorwort. Exlibris auf Innendeckel. Einbandecken bestoßen, Namenseintrag auf Schmutzblatt. Gute, innen gute bis sehr gute Exemplare, Tafeln tadellos.
First edition. Edition with 238 lithographed plates in colour (180 birds and 58 eggs). The listed „Alpine Serin Finch“ is missing in the 3rd volume. „Pallas’ Pratincole“, „Asiatic Plover“, „Red-breasted Dotterel“, „Charadrius Longipes“ und „Least European Sparrow Owl“ are missing in the 4th volume, therefore included 2 plates of the „Levant Sparrow-Hawk“ (Adulte und Young Male and Female) and the not-listed „Strix-Pusilla“. This is identical with the copy at the Smithsonian Library. Volume 4 with the otherwise often missing foreword. Half leather bindings of the times with gilt embossed title on spines. Covers bumped, Exlibris on inner cover. Name inscription on fly-leaf. Good on the outside, on the inside nearly fine copies, plates very well preserved.
