Original-Farblithografie von Louis Haghe nach David Roberts Zeichnung. Blatt aus „Views in the Holy Land, Syria, Idumea, Arabia, Egypt, & Nubia“, herausgegeben zwischen 1846 und 1849 von E. G. Moon in London. Roberts war der erste Europäer, der viele der heiligen Moscheen oder Denkmäler betreten durfte und fertigte seine Skizzen während einer 11-monatigen Reise zwischen 1838 und 1839 an. Lithografie innerhalb der Abbildung unten links in der Druckplatte von David Roberts signiert, bezeichnet „L. Haghe lith.“. Unterhalb der Abbildung typografisch beschriftet und mit „London Published by F. G. Moon 20. Threadneedle St. July 2nd 1849“ bezeichnet. Mit weißem Nassklebeband rückseitig rundherum hinter weißem Passepartout montiert. Maße Abbildung: 49,5 x 35,0 cm. Blattgröße: 59,5 x 42,5 cm. Maße Passepartout: ca. 77 x 54 cm. Passepartout rückseitig mit Resten von weißem Nassklebeband von früherer Montage. Insgesamt sehr guter Zustand.

Moon in London. Roberts was the first European allowed to enter many of the sacred mosques or monuments and made his sketches during an 11-month journey between 1838 and 1839. Lithograph signed by David Roberts within the picture at the lower left in the printing plate, inscribed „L. Haghe lith.“. Typographically inscribed below the image and inscribed „London Published by F. G. Moon 20. Threadneedle St. July 2nd 1849“. Mounted behind a white passepartout with white wet adhesive tape all around the margins on the backside of the sheet. Dimensions illustration: 49.5 x 35.0 cm. Sheet size: 59.5 x 42.5 cm. Size of the passepartout: appr. 77 x 54 cm. Passepartout with pieces of white wet adhesive tape on its backside due to former mounting. Still very good condition.
