[Altkolorierter Kupferstich / handcoloured copper engraving]. Alexis Hubert Jaillot, geboren ca. 1632 in Avignon-lès-Saint-Claude, Freigrafschaft Burgund, gestorben am 2. November 1712 in Paris. Französischer Kartograph und Verleger. Nicolas Sanson, geboren 1600, gestorben 1667.

Karte des Kreises Westfalen von 1681. Herausgegeben von Hubert Jaillot (A. Paris. Chez H. Jaillot, joignant les grands Augustins, aux deux Globes. Avec Priviliege du Roy pour Vingt Ans). Altkolorierte Karte (Grenz- und Landschaftskolorierung). Das Gebiet erstreckt sich von der Nordsee, Wangeoog bis Koblenz im Süden und von Maastricht im Westen bis Kassel im Osten. Maße Platte/Abbildung: 88,0 x 58,0 cm. Blattgröße: ca. 98 x 77 cm. Das Blatt wurde aus 4 Teilen zusammengesetzt, daher mittig mit Falzen und rückseitig dort mit weißem Nassklebeband hinterlegt, rückseitig mit Vermerk von alter Hand. Blatt im Randbereich mit vereinzelnen Flecken, teils unregelmäßig gebräunt, etwas wasserfleckig. Linke obere Ecke mit Ausriss, Blattränder mit Einrissen (ca. 1 cm, ein längerer mit etwa 4,5 cm) und mit 2 winzigen Ausrissen (ohne Bildberührung). Im mittleren Kartenbereich ein restaurierter kleiner Einriss. Rückseitig am Rand mit weiteren Resten von weißem Nassklebeband von früherer Montage. Guter Zustand.

Old coloured map (boundary and landscape coloring). The area extends from the North Sea, Wangeoog to Koblenz in the south and from Maastricht in the west to Kassel in the east. Dimensions plate/picture: 88.0 x 58.0 cm. Sheet size: appr. 98 x 77 cm. The sheet itself is assembled from 4 parts, therefrom with now 4 folds in the middle and with white wet adhesive tape on the backside, backside with one note from old hand. Sheet with a few spots at the margin area, partly darkened, lightly waterstained. Left upper corner with a small missing part, margins with one tears (appr. 1 cm, one longer tear with 4.5 cm), and some tiny missing parts (outside the picture). One small restored tear in the middle of the map. Backside with pieces of white wet adhesive due to former mouting. Good condition.
