Halblederband der Zeit mit goldgeprägtem Rückentitel auf rotem Lederschild und floralem Buchschmuck sowie Fileten und marmoriertem Deckelbezug.
Französischsprachige Ausgabe. Weller II, 224. Cohen/Ricci I, 234 f. Nicht bei Cioranescu. Nicht bei Brunet. Mit den insgesamt 4 Kupfertafeln (je 2 pro Teilband). Die beiden Bände entsprechen in Umfang und Titelgebung der bei Cohen/Ricci genannten Ausgabe, liegen hier allerdings in 12° statt in 18° vor. Im ersten Teil sind außerdem die beiden Tafeln in der Platte auf das Jahr 1794 datiert, während beide Zwischentitel im Druckvermerk auf das Jahr 1792 verweisen. Die Tafeln im zweiten Teil weisen keine Datierung auf. Gestochen wurden die Kupfern der genannten Ausgabe entsprechend ebenfalls nach Le Barbier von Halbou, Simonet und Thomas (jeweils in der Platte signiert). Einband fachmännisch restauriert. Kanten etwas berieben, Vorsätze leimschattig, Exlibris und winziger Besitzstempel auf fliegendem Blatt, Schnitt, Seiten und Tafeln etwas gebräunt und stellenweise leicht bis mäßig fleckig (Tafeln nur gering betroffen). Gutes Exemplar mit in kräftigen Abdrucken erhaltenen Kupferstichen. French language edition. Half leather binding of the times with gilt embossed title on red leather spine label, floral book decoration and fillets as well as marbled boards. French language edition. With 4 copper engraved plates (each part containing 2 engravings). Both volumes match the by Cohen/Ricci mentioned edition in its bibliographical details, although the copy at hand is a duodecimo format. Also the first parts plates indicate the date „1794“ in the capture, whilst the other two plates show no such information at all. The title pages of each of the two parts indicate their publication in 1792. The plates were engraved after Le Barbier by Halbou, Simonet and Thomas (each signed in the plate). Binding professionally restored. Edges a little rubbed, bookplate and tiny stamp on flyleaf, endpapers glue shaded, edges, pages and plates a little darkened and partially lightly to moderately foxed (plates only slightly affected). Good copy with well-preserved copper engravings.
