Mit Titelblättern in Rot und Schwarz, insgesamt 5 gestochenen Frontispizen einer mehrfach gefalteten Karte von Israel/Palästina in Kupferstich (47 x 40 cm), einer gestochenen Falttafel mit Grundriss, einem Textholzschnitt und eingedruckten Marginalien. Aus der Bibliothek von Dr. Isaac D’Olier (1771-1841), Dubliner Rechtsgelehrter, Kirchenbeamter und Naturforscher, mit seinem gestochenen Wappenexlibris (drei Säulen). Nach Graesse die beste englische Übersetzung (ibid.). Einbände mit winzigen Randfehlstellen, etwas berieben und an einzelnen Stellen deutlicher beschabt bzw. mit Kratzspur, gering bestoßen, Rücken etwas risspurig. Gelockerte Rückenbezüge und Außengelenke geleimt. Zwei Rückenschildchen fehlen. Innenfalz mit Papier verstärkt. Bindung stellenweise leicht gelockert. Titelblatt von Band 1 mit Besitzvermerk von alter Hand in Tinte. Seiten nur minimal gedunkelt, stellenweise leicht stockfleckig und vereinzelt mit Marginalien von alter Hand in Tinte, einzelne Seiten in Band 1 deutlicher fleckig. Frontispiz recto mit kleiner Zeichnung und einzelnen Zahlen von alter Hand in Tinte. Die ersten 30 Seiten desselben Bandes mit etwas gedunkeltem, maximal bis über die Hälfte der Seite reichendem Wasserrand (sich zügig verjüngend), Seite XIII-XVIII mit kleinem Brandloch (Verlust einzelner Wörter). Faltkarte im oberen Drittel mit 4 etwa daumengroßen, gering gedunkelten Wasserflecken, ansonsten einzelne kleine Fleckchen, stellenweise leichter Tintenabklatsch, in den Falzen mehrere eingerissene Stellen ordentlich mit Textilgewebe hinterlegt. Frontispiz von Band 2 am Rand mit kleineren Einrissen (minimale Bildberührung), dort mit festem Papier verstärkt. Gutes Exemplar.

With title-pages in red and black, a total of 5 engraved frontispieces, a large folding engraved map of Israel/Palestine (47 x 40 cm), an engraved folding plate with a ground plan, a woodcut in the text, and printed marginalia. From the library of Dr Isaac D’Olier (1771-1841), Dublin lawyer, ecclesiastical official and naturalist, with his engraved armorial bookplate (three columns). According to Graesse, the best English translation (ibid.). Bindings with tiny marginal defects, somewhat rubbed and in places more noticeably scuffed or marked with scratches, lightly bumped; spines with some surface cracking. Loosened spine coverings and outer joints reglued. Two spine labels missing. Inner hinges strengthened with paper. Binding slightly loosened in places. Title-page of volume 1 with an ownership inscription in an early hand in ink. Pages only minimally darkened, lightly foxed in places and occasionally with marginalia in an early hand in ink; individual pages in volume 1 more noticeably stained. Recto of the frontispiece with a small drawing and several numbers in an early hand in ink. The first 30 pages of the same volume with a slightly darkened waterstain extending over approximately half the page and tapering rapidly; pp. XIII-XVIII with a small burn hole, resulting in the loss of a few words. Folding map with 4 approximately thumb-sized, slightly darkened waterstains in the upper third; otherwise a few small spots, slight ink offsetting in places, and several tears in the folds neatly repaired with textile. Frontispiece of volume 2 with minor marginal tears, minimally touching the image, reinforced with strong paper. A good copy.
